DESCRIPTION:Join the Data Science Community on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, “A Tale of 7 Demand Response Programs – How Data Analytics Empowered REC to Strategize Demand Response Decisions ” led by Hesen Peng, Data Scientist at Rappahannock Electric Cooperative/BrillIT.\nSession Description:\n\nRappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) has a portfolio of 7 demand response programs that range from individual member driven summer saving programs, to utility scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). The programs date back from the 1980s and have been a component of REC’s day-to-day operations. Over the last year, BrillIT, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC, conducted comprehensive modeling and analysis of REC’s demand response programs. This led to an end-to-end evaluation framework that allows business stakeholders to make decisions based on thorough cost / benefit analysis and simulation. REC is going to use this session to share what they found from the analytics and stakeholder management front. They will demo their current tools that would leverage GenAI to empower stakeholders for interactive analysis.
