DESCRIPTION:Join the Natural Gas Community on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on “Probabilistic Risk for Distribution Pipelines” led by Dylan Karaus, Pipeline Integrity Program Manager at Avista.\n \nSession Description:\n\nEvaluation of risk has been a federal requirement for all distribution pipeline operators since 2011. Since this requirement, the gas industry has progressed from qualitative risk models to quantitative risk, where probabilistic risk is the new gold standard for calculating pipeline risk.\n\nThis session will give a high-level overview of probabilistic risk on distribution pipelines. It will cover data inputs, basic methodology, risk units, and outputs. If time allows, we can discuss how results are interpreted and applied.
