SUMMARY:August 26 Asset Health Analytics Community – From Reactive to Proactive: Lessons Learned in Asset Health Monitoring
DESCRIPTION:Join the Asset Health Analytics Community on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT for a panel discussion on, “From Reactive to Proactive: Lessons Learned in Asset Health Monitoring” led by Achille Wabo Djepum, Data Scientist IV at First Energy + other panelists TBD.\n\n \nSession Description:\nThis interactive panel discussion will explore how utilities are evolving asset health monitoring for meters and transformers, moving from reactive, billing-cycle-driven processes to more proactive, data-driven approaches.\nThe discussion will be grounded in practical examples, including the shift to daily asset monitoring at scale, the implementation of a 10-day “no communication” rule to trigger action, and how these changes have reduced estimated bills, minimized unnecessary truck rolls, and improved operational efficiency. Participants will also examine how utilities are leveraging AMI data to better understand transformer loading and risk, particularly as EV adoption and distributed solar continue to grow.\nBeyond current-state practices, the session will also explore the next frontier: the transition from proactive monitoring to predictive decision-making. Participants will discuss where traditional engineering approaches are still effective, where advanced analytics and machine learning may add value, and where uncertainty still exists.\nAfter a brief set of framing insights, participants will engage in a peer-driven discussion focused on where their asset health processes were three years ago, where they are today, and where they are headed next. This session is designed to encourage open dialogue, shared lessons learned, and collaborative problem-solving across the utility analytics community.\n \n*UAI Utility Members can register and access all nine of our Analytics Communities via our Community Page ( https://utilityanalytics.com/communities/ ). Not a part of the Asset Health Community and want to join this session? Please use our direct link here to request access. You will find the Teams meeting credentials to the upcoming meeting at the top of the feed on this page.
