DESCRIPTION:Join the Grid Analytics Community on Wednesday, November 18 at 1:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, “AI Fault Prediction Applications, Power Quality Event Analysis, and System Integration – Digitalizing Substations” led by Ebrahim Balouji, (Ph.D., Ph.D.), CEO & Co-Founder of Eneryield, CEO & Founder of EcoPhi.\n \nSession Description:\nThis session will cover, AI Fundamentals, Core Methods: ML, DL, NLP, High-Impact Applications, Power Quality Events and System Integration.\n\n\nWe will explore the challenges T&D operators face and address how these can be solved with AI analysis of:\n• Anomalies (Voltage Dip, Sag, Swell & Transients)\n• Harmonics\n• Unbalance\n• Power consumption\n\n\nPhysics-informed ML feature processing\n• Disturbance Segmentation\n• Extraction over 400 features\n\n\nRoot Cause Analysis\n• Disturbance type\n• Underlying root cause\n• Location, distance\n\n\nFault Prediction\n• Complete view of fault and outage history\n• Compare with fault patterns\n• Risk of fault and outages within weeks\n• Alarms, reports, and transparent explanations of upcoming faults, preceding outages\n\n\nAs many power quality (PQ) signatures precede or accompany developing faults: repeated shallow sags/dips, low-frequency (0–10 kHz) oscillations (control/mechanical stress), transients, and harmonics/interharmonics (heating, resonance).
