April 22 Asset Health Analytics Community – AMI-Driven Asset Loading Analytics – Turning Meter Data into System-Wide Telemetry
Join the Asset Health Analytics Community on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, “AMI-Driven Asset Loading Analytics – Turning Meter Data into System-Wide Telemetry” led by Justin Perry, Application Solutions Architect at Alabama Power.
Session Description:
Southern Company is transforming system-wide AMI hi-resolution interval data into system-wide loading analytics—providing visibility equivalent to having telemetry at every distribution asset, from transformers to fuses to switches and beyond. Using a cloud-based data platform and ETL pipeline, billions of measurements are aggregated into actionable insights across all levels of the distribution system. Every line asset has on-demand 15-minute peak loading information derived from real-world measurements. The result is accurate transformer loading profiles, right-sized replacement units, and protective device sizing that incorporates measured lower bounds.
