Join the Data Science Community on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, “Operationalizing Advanced Forecasting at Scale” led by Prasenjit Shil, Manager, Digital Innovation at Ameren.
Session Details:
Accurate forecasting for utility operations and infrastructure planning requires both advanced models and robust production frameworks. This presentation highlights two complementary use cases delivered: day-ahead hourly electric sales forecasting using deep learning and classical time-series models, and long-term gas demand and peak forecasting at the pressure-system level using statistically adjusted end-use and econometric approaches.
With approx. 300 pressure systems modeled for gas operations, multiple data sources (AMR/AMI, Economy, numerous weather stations, energy efficiency data) integrated, and automated pipelines deployed, this presentation will focus on how scalable data engineering and CI/CD enable consistent, repeatable forecasting in production environments. Lessons learned on modeling, governance, performance monitoring, and operational integration will also be discussed.
