Session Description:
The grid is changing faster than rules governing it. While utilities across the U.S. are making use of advanced analytics tools to manage the surge in solar, storage and flexible loads, these tools remain unevenly integrated into regulatory practices. This session examines the gap between technological capability and regulatory implementation across six U.S. jurisdictions, comparing on DER visibility, Non-Wire Alternatives (NWA) adoption, and performance metric standardization. Drawing on analysis of planning fillings and regulatory framework’s, we will present what’s working, what’s stalling and what a practical path forward looks like to unlock faster adoption of cost-effective clean energy integration.
