Session Description:

This session walks through key milestones in AEP’s AI journey—from establishing Azure as the foundation for developing ChatAEP, AEP’s private, employee facing AI chat application, to governing early AI adoption through a centralized oversight committee. It explores how AEP balanced tight control with enablement, and how the organization has since expanded access to AI capabilities through tools like M365 Copilot. The session will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on the challenges ahead, including scaling the M365 Copilot rollout, clarifying how user expectations map to evolving AI capabilities, and enabling AEP to continue its transition toward an AI first organization.
