Session Description:
Natural gas utilities collect vast amounts of operational data but transforming that information into meaningful insights requires more than simply creating reports. At City Utilities of Springfield, we partnered with our Natural Gas Operations and Pipeline Safety & Compliance teams to develop analytics that improve visibility into field operations, workforce utilization, and system performance.
This session will highlight our analytics journey, beginning with dashboards that provide insight into actual and average completion times by job type and support data-driven workforce planning. We will also discuss how these foundational analytics are expanding to include performance metrics such as leaks per mile and cost per mile, creating the framework for future risk-based maintenance and infrastructure replacement decisions. Attendees will gain practical insights into building an analytics roadmap that delivers immediate operational value while supporting long-term asset management strategies.
