June 23 Safety Analytics Community – Populating, Validating, and Protecting Multi-Circuit Feeder Position Data
Join the Safety Analytics Community on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, “Populating, Validating, and Protecting Multi-Circuit Feeder Position Data” led by Reid Pinkerton, Data Scientist, at Oncor Electric Delivery.
Full Session Title: Populating, Validating, and Protecting Multi-Circuit Feeder Position Data | An early-stage initiative to make Distribution multi-circuit feeder position data available and trustworthy for operational use—preventing divergences between the GIS map and field reality to improve safety and reliability
Session Description:
Accurate feeder identification is critical to safe and reliable switching and restoration operations, particularly in Distribution multi-circuit environments where data ambiguity can lead to severe mapping errors and control-center-to-field miscommunication. This session will explore an ongoing initiative to improve the accuracy and management of feeder position attributes (e.g., Top or Bottom) for multi-circuit conductor features within an enterprise GIS. As an early-stage project, the discussion will focus on the problem definition, measurement challenges, documented assumptions and risks, potential solution architecture, and the business value of improving multi-circuit feeder position data integrity to support safer and more reliable utility operations.
