September 17 Grid Analytics Community – Uncertainty-Driven Short-Term Reserve Requirements at MISO

Join the Grid Analytics Community on Wednesday,  September 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A/open discussion on, Uncertainty-Driven Short-Term Reserve Requirements at MISO” led by Haleigh Gronwold, Data Scientist at MISO.

Session Description:

This session will highlight MISO’s Short-Term Reserve Requirements model. The model, operationalized within MISO’s Uncertainty Platform in Microsoft Azure, automates the selection of next-day hourly reserve requirements and daily commitment thresholds at the regional level in production. Built on forecasted grid uncertainty, demand, weather, and renewable generation forecasts, it provides dynamic updates that enable operators to make proactive, informed decisions to maintain reliability and respond to unexpected disruptions in generation and supply.
