The microgrid market is gaining traction as power supply resilience becomes increasingly important to owners of critical infrastructure. In Texas, home to more than 50% of US commercial installations, consumers have added nearly 100 microgrids statewide since the unprecedented freeze caused by Winter Storm Uri resulted in 52 GW in lost grid capacity. Microgrids also are proving beneficial to residential communities that are struggling with access to power, while some investors are deploying on-site power as a means of integrating renewable resources as part of their energy mix.
