The 2023 Smart Utility Summit had 24 participating solution providers competing in three award categories:

(1) Best Smart Utility Solution.

(2) Smart Utility Vendor to Watch.

(3) Best Overall Vendor Presentation.

Awards were voted on by the 70+ utility professionals in attendance representing electric utilities from across North America.

Best Smart Utility Solution

Sensus received the SUS23 Best Smart Utility Solution award, which goes to the vendor that provided the most exciting product/solution during the Summit. Sensus, a Xylem brand, provides remotely managed products and solutions that deliver the right data at the right time for investor-owned utilities, cooperatives and municipalities. As part of Xylem’s digital portfolio, the company’s smart devices connect with a variety of communication technologies to help customers make timely decisions that optimize electric, gas and water systems.

Smart Utility Vendor to Watch

Firmatek received the SUS23 Smart Utility Vendor to Watch award, given to an up[1]and-coming vendor with the most innovative solution in the smart utility space. Firmatek LLC, headquartered in San Antonio, is a 30-year-old company and the industry leader in providing advanced drone services for electric utilities. Firmatek possesses a fleet of 30 FAA-certified drone pilots nationwide and is able to handle any sized project. The company features a cloud-based service where its customers can access all of their photographic, GIS, and equipment data for their distribution or transmission system.

Best Overall Vendor Presentation

ARCOS received the SUS23 award for Best Overall Vendor Presentation, given to the vendor that left the best overall impression in their Summit boardroom presentations.
